2022 The Bear Worlds Wildlife 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

Dimensions:
38.6mm
Weight (grams):
31.103
Fineness:

The Democratic Republic of the Congo normally uses banknotes for circulation, and does not issue coins in the Congolese Franc currency. However, the country has authorised some foreign mints to issue commemorative and bullion coins under its jurisdiction.

This fourth issue in the annual World’s Wildlife Series is dedicated to the Bear (Ursidae).

The bear is one of the most famous animal species in the world and plays an important role in the mythology and culture of many nations because of its size and strength. The species belongs to the family of mammals and is divided into eight different subspecies. The most well-known subspecies include the polar bear from the Arctic and Northern Canada, the brown bear from North America, Europe and Russia, the giant panda from China, and the American black bear from North America and Mexico. While the animals’ habitat once stretched across the globe, their territory has now been greatly reduced. Ongoing deforestation, illegal poaching, and climate change have led to the classification of some subspecies as endangered.

The reverse design depicts a brown bear in the wild. The majestic animal’s open muzzle reveals its razor-sharp teeth. Around above, the name of the coin: THE BEAR; around below, the name of the series WORLD’S WILDLIFE, divided by a map of the world centred on the continent of Asia.

the obverse of the coin depicts the Coat of Arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which consists of a leopard head surrounded by an elephant tusk to the left and a spear to the right. On a ribbon below, the national motto JUSTICE PAIX TRAVAIL (from French: Justice, Peace, Work), below the Coat of Arms, in small letters the precious metal of the coin: 1 oz Ag 999.9 (one troy ounce of 99.99% silver; the name of the country: REPUBLIQUE DEMOCATIQUE DU CONGO, the nominal face value of the coin: · 20 FRANCS ·. Each one of these new reverse elements comes with a shared design element, that being the outline of the African continent, and a new element representing a different animal species found on the continent.

Today, there are eight living species of pelicans. Most of the worlds pelicans live between the temperate and tropical latitudes of planet Earth. Since then, the feline predator has been a symbol of power and dominance and has adorned countless coats of arms and flags up to this very day. The impressive roar of the lion can be heard up to 8 kilometers away and is used for communication within the pack members. In the wild, the lion can live up to 20 years – but to this day, the threat from poachers remains great. Dimensions:
38.7mm
Weight (grams):
31.10300
Fineness:
999

The 2022 Krugerrand continues this legendary tradition in a new metal. Much like its gold sibling, the Silver Krugerrand offers investors a great way to own low-premium bullion. Whereas the 2017 Silver Krugerrand was marketed as a higher-premium collector coin, the 2022 as was the 2018, 2019 2020, & 2021 editions were priced at a slim margin over melt. Its market premium is comparable to the Silver Maple Leaf, Britannia, Kangaroo, and Philharmonic. Unlike the other sovereign coins in its class, however, the Krugerrand offers multi-generational demand and recognition. Gold investors have turned to the Krugerrand for over 50 years; now they can own this trusted coin in silver too.

The 2022 1 oz Silver Krugerrand also features its face value as part of the obverse design. The original reverse design of a leaping springbok antelope is also sharper and more defined thanks to the latest computer technology and laser etching techniques. The obverse of this prestigious 2022 silver coin features the well-known portrait of Paul Kruger by Otto Schultz.

It could reach an average length of 12 meters and is thus considered the largest scientifically described pliosaur. According to researchers, their powerful jaws and strong teeth indicate that they fed less on fish and more on larger prey such as other marine reptiles. The second release of the Queens Virtues Series from the East India Company and Issuing Authority of St. Helena has arrived. Following the debut of the series with the allegorical figure of Victory, the collection now moves on to focus on Truth in the second issue of the six-coin series

The six designs set to feature in the Queens Virtues Series of silver coins for sale are based on allegorical figures depicted in the Victoria Memorial outside of Buckingham Palace. The memorial was erected in the years after the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 and it contains several allegorical statues within the design of the monument.

Each one of these statues offered a female allegorical figure reflective of the virtues that were ascribed to Queen Victoria during her glorious reign as Queen of England. The statue at the very top of the monument is Victory, the first figure featured in this series. Now, another of those figures features in the series as Truth is issued second.

Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse side of the 2022 St. Helena Silver Queens Virtues Truth Coin. This effigy of the Queen is the third-generation design from the Royal Mint that was used from 1985 to 1997. Designed by Raphael Maklouf, it offers a timeless vision of Queen Elizabeth II with the George IV State Diadem on her head.

Truth features in the reverse design of 2022 1 oz Silver Queens Virtues Truth Coins. This image depicts the figure of Truth in left-profile relief as she holds a mirror in her right hand while reaching back to comfort a small child with her left hand. That small child holds a palm branch in its hands.

The redesign of the American Silver Eagle coin took several months across 2020 for the US Mint to narrow down. The original list of possible designs considered by coinage groups and the US Mint included some 35 different designs. In the end, a new depiction of the American bald eagle in its natural element was chosen to replace John Mercantis heraldic eagle. Emily Damstra is the designer of the new reverse image for the collection. The enhanced image of Walking Liberty on the obverse includes the reintroduction of Adolph A. Weinman’s artistic signature mark on the field, bringing the modern design closer to the original 1916 image.

The obverse side of the 2022 American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin features the Walking Liberty design from Adolph A. Weinman. Now featured in a more life-like design, the American bald eagle swoops down into view with its wings flexed behind its back and a large oak branch in its talons. The only year they didn’t change designs was 2002, which used the same design as 2001.

The People’s Republic of China issues and guarantees the quality of each Silver Panda coin. Silver Panda coins are minted from several mints each year. Those mints include but are not limited to Shenzhen, Shanghai and Shenyang. Unlike the U.S. Mint, these Chinese Mints do not incorporate mint marks to distinguish the difference between each mint. Instead, these mints are known for having minor differences in the design of the coin such as font size, bamboo length and designs of the temple in certain year’s mintages.

2022 Phantom DC Comics Tuvalu 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

Manufacturer: Perth Mint
Dimensions: 40.6 mm
Weight (grams): 31.103
Fineness: 999

This 2022 Silver Tuvalu Perth DC Comics: Phantom 1 oz BU is the latest superhero-themed offering from the island of Tuvalu, in association with Perth Mint. According to the mint, “The Phantom, sworn to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty, and injustice, was created by Lee Falk in 1936. Seemingly immortal, having been around since 1536, he is in fact the 21st member of a crime-fighting dynasty who all adopt the same costumed persona. The Phantom lives in a jungle hideout known as Skull Cave, where all previous Phantoms are buried. Like his predecessors, he relies on his strength, intellect, and legendary immortality to overcome evil. Featured in The Phantom, the most widely-read superhero comic in the world, the anti-crime crusader is also a star of film, television, and video games.”

When it debuted in 1936, The Phantom comic gave readers a hero as theyd never seen before. The Phantom was the first superhero to have an official spandex costume and, in many ways, set the standard for characters like Superman, Spiderman, and The Flash. But because of his vigilante status and lack of any actual superpowers, some fans consider The Phantom as a precursor of The Batman.

2022 Aphrodite Gods of Olympus Tuvalu 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

Manufacturer: Perth Mint

Weight (grams): 31.103
Fineness: 999

The sixth coin of the all-new Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Series is now available, In Greek mythology, Aphrodite was worshipped as the goddess of love, pleasure, and beauty, exciting passion in the hearts of gods and men.

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. Her Roman equivalent is the goddess Venus and she is identified with the planet of the same name. As with many ancient Greek deities, there is more than one story about her origins. According to Hesiod’s Theogony, she was born when Cronus cut off Uranus’s genitals and threw them into the sea, and she arose from the sea foam (aphros). According to Homer’s Iliad, she is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. According to Plato (Symposium, 180e), these two origins were of entirely separate entities: Aphrodite Ourania and Aphrodite Pandemos.

Because of her beauty, other gods feared that their rivalry over her would interrupt the peace among them and lead to war, so Zeus married her to Hephaestus, who, because of his ugliness and deformity, was not seen as a threat. Aphrodite had many lovers—both gods, such as Ares, and men, such as Anchises. Aphrodite is also known as Cytherea (Lady of Cythera) and Cypris (Lady of Cyprus) after the two cult sites, Cythera and Cyprus, which claimed to be her place of birth. Myrtle, doves, sparrows, horses, and swans were said to be sacred to her. The ancient Greeks identified her with the Ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor.

2022 Australian Dingo & Baby 2oz Silver Bullion Coin

Manufacturer: Perth Mint
Dimensions: 40.6 mm
Weight (grams): 62.206
Fineness: 999

Perth Mint introduced the Next Generation Series of silver bullion coins in 2018. On the obverse of each 2022 Australian Mother & Baby Dingo Silver Coin is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile relief was initially created for the Royal Mint of England in 2015 and shows the Queen at the age of 89 with the George IV State Diadem Crown. The swan is an iconic species that is so synonymous with The Perth Mint itself that it even appears in the mint?s logo. Founded in 1829 on the shores of the Swan River, the original colony in the territory was in fact called Swan River Colony, the location of which is now Perth.

Perth grew rapidly in the late 19th century thanks to its rich deposits of natural resources such as oil, gas and perhaps most of all, Gold. From its origins The Perth Mint is in many ways personified by the Swan, a regal waterfowl that appears on the flag of Western Australia and symbolizes timelessness, elegance and beauty, much like the standard of coins produced by the Perth Mint itself.

Bison. One of the worlds most famous secret agents is the fictional character known as James Bond. Known within the circles of British intelligence as 007, Bond solves crimes around the world and helps avert disaster with his combat skills and charm. Introduced to readers in the 1950s by Ian Fleming, since 1962, Bond has graced the big screen in theaters around the globe.

Ian Fleming came up with the James Bond character in 1953. Over the course of the next decade of his life, until his death in 1964, Fleming would feature this impressive character in 12 novels and two short-story collections. Following his death, other authors have been authorized to produce additional Bond novels or stories. The most recent of these was written by Anthony Horowitz and published in 2018.

Once James Bond hit the big screen, audiences around the world began to associate the actors who portrayed Bond with the character. Sean Connery was the first James Bond and is, arguably, the greatest Bond. He portrayed Bond in the first five consecutive films from 1962 to 1967. After skipping the sixth Bond film, Connery returned in 1971 to portray the secret agent once again in the seventh film. Connery is tied with Roger Moore for the most times in the role at seven. In addition to appearing in the first five and six of the first seven, Connery is the only Bond from Eon Productions films to feature in a non-Eon Productions film, playing Bond a seventh time in Never Say Never Again in 1983. With that appearance, Connery took on the role seven times across three decades.

2022 George & Dragon Ascension Islands 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

Manufacturer: Commonwealth Mint
Dimensions:
38.6 mm x 2.3mm
Weight (grams):
31.1
Fineness:
999

When Great Britain struck its first Gold Sovereign in 1817, King George III was still wearing a powdered wig. Fast forward 200 years and no one, but no one would be caught dead wearing the fluffy, long out-of-date hairpiece! Styles and trends have changed dramatically since then, but one thing has remained constant: Benedetto Pistrucci’s Saint George and the Dragon design that appeared on that first Gold Sovereign has been used by every subsequent British monarch to this day.

The first release in the Modern Masters Trilogy looks at the iconic Saint George and the Dragon design through the eyes of Jody Clark, one of the coin world’s brightest rising stars. At the youthful age of 33, Clark is already famous for creating the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II during his time as an engraver at the Royal Mint. A renowned international artist, Clark was the winner of the 2014 flagship Britannia collection and the designer of the critically acclaimed Queen’s Beast collection. His rendition of Saint George and the Dragon shows the duel between man and beast. The dragon falls back, claws raised menacingly and teeth ready to strike. Saint George’s horse rears back, as the knight leans forward to plunge his spear into the dragons’ heart. A master of detail, Clark’s design is so detailed that you can see individual strands from the horse’s tail and each scale on the dragon’s hide can be easily identified. A stylized Celtic border surrounds the design.

The design is a splendidly fluid counterpart to Pistrucci’s original design. For a fee of 100 guineas Pistrucci created a coin regarded by some as the most beautiful ever produced with a timeless motif that evoked visions of ancient Greek warriors. It depicts Saint George wearing nothing but a helmet in a dynamic portrayal that shows the Saint astride his horse as it tramples the dragon beneath its hooves. Pistrucci worked from life, using a hotel waiter to pose as England’s patron saint for his iconic engraving. The prestigious commission left Pistrucci in prime position to assume the vacant post of Chief Engraver at the Royal Mint. But while he assumed the duties of Chief Engraver, his status as a foreigner left the Italian-born artist barred from the position. An ambitious but polarizing character, Pistrucci stoked rivalries, survived a stabbing by a jealous rival, and left an indelible mark on British coinage.

This coin depicts the mythical Pegasus – a brilliant, white stallion with powerful wings that was born from the blood of the gorgon known as Medusa

There are two origin stories within Greek mythology that explain the appearance of Pegasus. One of these, from Archaic Greek mythology, suggests that Pegasus was the offspring of Medusa, who in these stories was actually a mare. Later myths within Archaic Greek mythology position Pegasus as being foaled from the blood of Medusa as she was decapitated by Perseus. On the other hand, Classical Greek mythology suggests that the Olympian god known as Poseidon was the father of Pegasus.

East India Company Collections introduces a new coin series which will tell the stories of the Goddesses of Ancient Greek and Norse mythology.

Despite originating in ancient myths and legends, Goddesses inform modern life perhaps more than we realize. Their mythology, religious legends, history and folk tales influence movies, TV shows, museum exhibits and famous brands such as cameras and running shoes.

Theirs are stories of intricate family sagas, wars fought by powerful dynasties, love found and lost, the worlds of nature and magic and the realms of gods and men, featuring fantastical creatures and characters who inspire our imaginations and codes of living. Morals, virtues, beliefs and ethics are all integral to the mythology of the Goddesses.

The series starts with Hera, wife and sister of the mighty Zeus, one of the twelve principal deities of the Greek pantheon who lived upon Mount Olympus.“Queen of the Immortals is she, surpassing all in beauty: she is the sister and wife of loud-thundering Zeus, the glorious one whom all the blessed throughout high Olympos reverence and honour even as Zeus who delights in thunder.”

This premium bullion coin is part of the Cash Coin Collection featuring the wildlife of various countries, and has The Rhino as a representative of Indian Wildlife.

The Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis), also called the Indian rhino, greater one-horned rhinoceros or great Indian rhinoceros, is a rhinoceros species native to the Indian subcontinent. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, as populations are fragmented and restricted to less than 20,000 km2. As of August 2018, the global population was estimated to comprise 3,588 individuals, including 2,939 individuals in India and 649 in Nepal. Kaziranga National Park alone had an estimated population of 2,048 rhinos in 2009. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam has the highest density of Indian rhinos in the world with 84 individuals in an area of 38.80 km2 in 2009.

Indian rhinos once ranged throughout the entire stretch of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, but excessive hunting and agricultural development reduced its range drastically to 11 sites in northern India and southern Nepal. In the early 1990s, between 1,870 and 1,895 Indian rhinos were estimated to have been alive. Since then, numbers have increased due to conservation measures taken by the government. Nearly 85% of the global Indian rhinoceros population is concentrated in Assam, where Kaziranga National Park contains 70% of rhino population.

The coins in the series are designed by Nick Martin, based on drawings of the animals by Veronica Mackinnon.

The reverse features a detailed image of an Indian rhinoceros, its head turned to left, against a patterned background, Around the rim, the inscription ONE OUNCE · CASH · 999 SILVER. She sets out on a quest to free them from the dragon’s clutches, taking her on an epic journey of battles, adventure, and romance. During her quest, she faces many challenges that test her humility and determination, including being confronted by a fierce lion. The lion is so taken by her beauty and purity that he abandons his attack on her, becoming her protector and loyal companion.

Una enlists the help of a knight to help her slay the Dragon. Steadfast and true to her cause, Una’s virtues inspire the knight to slay the dragon and fulfil his destiny as the hero St George, the patron saint of England. This epic tale is the creation of celebrated English poet Edmund Spencer. Written in 1590 the story of Una and the Lion has stood the test of time to become a symbol of beauty, strength, honor, and endurance.

A mainstay of British coinage for centuries, the Royal Arms is a majestic symbol of strength and majesty which represents the illustrious history of monarchy and heraldry in the United Kingdom.

The reverse design by David Lawrence displays the Lion of England in an intimidating pose, inspired by the Moat Bridge Royal Beasts of Hampton Court Palace. Introducing the third coin in the Mythical Forest series, a tribute to the power and mysticism of trees. The linden tree is a symbol of femininity, life and vitality. In Germanic mythology, it was associated with Freyja, the goddess of love and fertility. The linden is also a tree of lovers, under which they danced and celebrated, so it was planted in the central part of villages.

Planting a linden tree commemorated important events, such as a weddings or childbirths. Coffins were also made from its wood to ensure a peaceful sleep after death. Since the linden tree was associated with peace, it was also a good material for cradles. People took shelter under the tree during storms, believing it protected them from lightning. Touching the bark of the linden tree, on the other hand, was believed to draw diseases out of people and its health properties are widely known and valued even today.

On the obverse of the coin Germania Mint presents a linden leaf and its flower. It was the inflorescence of this long-lived tree that was used in herbalism and natural medicine. The reverse depicts a double-headed eagle, already familiar to Collectors, symbolizing the past and the future. The lightnings in its claws are a divine attribute, signifying the power to create and destroy.

The 2022 Malta Knights of the Past 5 Euro 1 oz Silver BU is the second commemorative coin created thanks to the close cooperation between Central Bank of Malta and Germania Mint. The series of unique bullion coins in a modern way refers to the traditions of the Order of Malta and its fortunes in the history of Europe.

European pilgrims, weary and wounded in their struggle for freedom of belief, could count on the help of the Knights Hospitaller. In the hospice built in the 11th century in Jerusalem many needy people found shelter and solace. Not only did the Knights organise the first hospitals on the European continent, bringing help to thousands of the afflicted, but they also gathered an excellent navy. They led crusades which, after many victories and defeats, brought them to Malta. Here they built a port, a fortress, a hospital and founded a monastic state. The impressive military potential of the Order of Malta became the inspiration for the series of bullion coins, which Germania Mint issues in cooperation with the Central Bank of Malta. The high quality of minting and precious metals harmonizes with an artistic vision – a modern look at the history of the Knights of Malta.

The obverse of the second coin in the series depicts the Knights of Malta in confrontation with the invaders, during the Great Siege of Malta in 1565 – the most important battle in the island’s history and one of the key ones for Europe. The coin’s reverse, as in 2021, depicts the Central Bank of Malta coat of arms on a shield held by a Maltese knight.

The 2022 Malta Knights of the Past 5 Euro 1 oz Silver BU coin will be issued in an edition of 15,000 pieces, along with a Certificate of Authenticity and blisterpack.

Eighth edition of a new series “THE GIANTS OF THE ICE AGE”. The entire series consists of eight animals in a period of 4 years. The worldwide circulation of only 15,000. The coins are individually delivered in a capsule.
New Series – Giants of the Ice Age

The Cave Lion (Panthera spelaea) evolved from P. fossilis about 460,000 years ago in central Europe during the late Saalian glaciation or early Eemian and would have been common throughout Eurasia from 450,000 to 13,000 years ago, when it went extinct.

Analysis of fossil bone samples revealed that it was highly distinct and genetically isolated from the modern lion (Panthera leo) occurring in Africa and Central Asia. Panthera spelaea is thought to have been one of the largest lion species. The skeleton of an adult male found in 1985 near Siegsdorf in Germany had a shoulder height of around 1.2 m and a head-body length of 2.1 m without the tail, similar in size to large modern lions, and larger examples have been found, with the heaviest estimated to weigh 339 kg.

The cave lion was probably predominantly found in open habitats such as steppe and grasslands, although it would also have occurred in open woodlands as well. It was one of the keystone species of the mammoth steppe, being one of the main apex predators alongside grey wolf, cave hyena and brown bear. Cave bear cubs, reindeer and other cervids were prominent in the diet of cave lions.

The Giants of the Ice Age series commemorates the eight extinct animals which ones roamed the earth during the last ice age, which took place during the Pleistocene Era.

Lady Polonia head’s adorned with a crown, a symbol of kings, while Germania is crowned with a branch of an oak, the tree that has accompanied her from the very beginning of the series. In Ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang is a Chinese philosophical concept that describes how obviously opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. In Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself out of a primary chaos of material energy, organized into the cycles of Yin and Yang and formed into objects and lives. Yin is the receptive and Yang the active principle, Humanity has already explored much of our planet Earth. Now, we are not only focusing outwards into space, but inwards into our consciousness as well. What is the relationship between our own selves and the great vastness beyond?

COIN INFORMATION

Tokelau, known previously as the Tokelau Islands, is a dependent territory of New Zealand in the southern Pacific Ocean. It uses the New Zealand Dollar as circulation currency, but has been issuing a variety of non-circulating coins since 1978, and has also authorised some foreign mints to issue bullion coins under its jurisdiction. The silver ounce (abbreviated as 1 oz) is an internationally popular format, and is denominated as Five Dollars.

This is the third design in the Icon series issued by the Pressburg Mint, and features Marilyn Monroe (1926 – 1962) – a famous American actress, singer, and model. The mint says about the series:
Icon in its many meanings – as a Greek word for image, as a work of art, as a characteristic of a famous person or a thing that represents something of importance.

Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; June 1, 1926 – August 4, 1962) was an American actress, singer, and model. Famous for playing comedic “blonde bombshell” characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and early 1960s, as well as an emblem of the era’s sexual revolution. She was a top-billed actress for a decade, and her films grossed $200 million (equivalent to $2 billion in 2021) by the time of her death in 1962. Long after her death, Monroe remains a major icon of pop culture. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked her sixth on their list of the greatest female screen legends from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

2022 Czech Lion Niue 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

Manufacturer: Czech Mint
Dimensions:

Weight (grams):

Mintage: 26,560
Fineness: 999

When The Czech Mint decided to strike its first-ever silver bullion coin in 2017, the start of an annual bullion series, it settled upon a dynamic theme for its initial entry to put forth on the world stage: the national symbol of the Czech Republic itself, a regal-looking double-tailed lion! The heraldic beast again returns in 2022—and now this spectacular coin struck in a full ounce of highly pure 99.9% fine silver can be part of your collection!

Crown Your Collection With The Bohemian Lion

The regal and powerful lion on this coin seems to bound from its surface. The new, one-year-only design shows a proud, heavily maned lion facing you from behind deep, piercing eyes. Atop its tawny head rests the Crown of Saint Wenceslas, a crown that forms part of the Bohemian Crown Jewels. Bohemia is now part of the Czech Republic, and the Bohemian Crown Jewels are stored in an undisclosed location within Prague’s St. Vitus Cathedral. The vault is sealed with seven locks whose keys are held by seven different government and religious officials. The final design element is a sprig from a Linden Tree, the Czech Republic’s national tree.

The lion became part of Bohemian heraldry thank to the legendary story of Prince Bruncvik. According to the tale, Bruncvik was a mythical prince who traveled to Africa, where he helped a lion defeat a dragon. It’s one of the most famous stories of how the exotic lion became symbol of the Czech Republic. And, while a decidedly Czech theme, this coin is actually $2 legal Tender in Niue, a small island nation in the South Pacific Ocean that licensed that these coins be struck by the Czech Mint.

“Germania” is the Latin term for Germany, from which the name “Germany” is used in English language today. Due to the connection with patriotic feelings, this word was present mainly in German literature and poetry. In ancient times the area inhabited by Germans east of the Rhine and north of the Danube rivers was called Germania. At that time its first personifications on coins and reliefs appeared, depicting a brave woman – the guardian of the nation.

2022 Germania 1 oz Silver BU

The heroine of our flagship series, Germania 2022, after a long and adventurous sea voyage has reached land. She does not yet know what will happen to her here, but her heart is not troubled. Despite many unknowns, she is ready to face new challenges. We invite you to accompany the heroine of Germania Mint on her next conquest of the world of collectibles.

Obverse

Germania, clad in armour and a dress moved by the sea breeze, steps on the mainland with her characteristic volatility and self-confidence. She is the first to explore the unknown lands to which she has brought her faithful people. Traditionally, Germania holds in her hands the shield and the imperial sword Reichsschwert, wearing a laurel wreath on her head. Her faithful companion, the double-headed eagle, warns of the danger lurking nearby. As in the previous year, the perspective of the obverse widens with each successive coin of the series – 1, 2, 10 ounces and 1 kg.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2022 coin is traditionally an image of the Germania Mint coat of arms with a two-headed eagle holding lightning bolts and surrounded by olive branches. The eagle originates from Germanic mythology and is associated with Janus – the god of all beginnings, protector of gates and bridges, patron of alliances. The eagle’s heads turned in opposite directions symbolise the past and the future.

Tesla was truly a remarkable person that devoted his life to discovery while additionally relishing the role of showmanship. Tesla became well known as an inventor and would even demonstrate his achievements to celebrities and wealthy patrons at his lab, and was noted for his showmanship at public lectures.

Born and raised in the Austrian Empire, Tesla received an advanced education in engineering and physics in the 1870s and gained practical experience in the early 1880s working in telephony and at Continental Edison in the new electric power industry. He emigrated to the United States in 1884, where he would become a naturalized citizen. He worked for the Edison Machine Works in New York City a short time before he struck out on his own.

In 1887, Tesla met two investors who agreed to back the formation of the Tesla Electric Company. He set up a laboratory in Manhattan, where he developed the alternating current induction motor, which solved a number of technical problems that had bedeviled other designs. When Tesla demonstrated his device at an engineering meeting, the Westinghouse Company made arrangements to license the technology, providing an upfront payment and royalties on each horsepower generated.

The so-called “War of the Currents” was raging in the late 1880s. Thomas Edison promoted direct current, asserting that it was safer than AC. George Westinghouse backed AC, since it could transmit power over long distances. Because the two were undercutting each other’s prices, Westinghouse lacked capital. He explained the difficulty and asked Tesla to sell his patents to him for a single lump sum, to which Tesla agreed, forgoing what would have been a vast fortune had he held on to them.

With the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 looming in Chicago, Westinghouse asked Tesla to help supply power; they’d have a huge platform for demonstrating the merits of AC. Tesla helped the fair illuminate more light bulbs than could be found in the entire city of Chicago, and wowed audiences with a variety of wonders, including an electric light that required no wires. Later Tesla also helped Westinghouse win a contract to generate electrical power at Niagara Falls, helping to build the first large-scale AC power plant in the world.

Tesla lived in a time when the world demanded results that were practical and profitable rather than revolutionary. To this point, Tesla spent most of his career being broke and eventually died penniless and alone in a New York City hotel room.

One of Tesla’s final gifts to the world was a tower near New York City that would have provided free wireless energy to the entire world. The man who financed the construction of the tower shut it down when he learned that there would be no way to regulate the energy which would mean no return of profit on his investment.

It is said that he held over 300 patents with some of his most notable being the alternating current, electric motors, remote control, television, radio, x-rays, cell phones, robotics, lasers, turbine engines, magnetic propulsion, drones, solar power adaptations, weather manipulation, particle beams and electromagnetic energy (Tesla coil).

Thanks to his obsession with cleanliness, the world’s first ozone generator was designed and patented by Nikola Tesla in 1886. A few years later, the Tesla Ozone Company was founded, which started large-scale production of ozone generating equipment for medical purposes and by 1915 there were already around 49 large-scale ozone installations for water treatment in Europe.

The reverse shows the iconic image of Nikola Tesla with his hand resting on his face. Below the image is the inscription “Electrical Visionary” and “Powering The Future”, as well as Nikola Tesla’s name in English and Serbian Cyrillic.

The obverse features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Serbia, with Nikola Tesla’s invention, the Ozone Generator, in the central position. Additionally, the coin states the weight, the metal sample, and the denomination.

“Panta Rhei” – Everything flows and things come and go. When it comes to value, precious metals have always held a crucial position in the world of finance. Nowadays, a safe haven at the very least, a financial norm in the past. Silver currently holds an especially important position in the financial world and we believe it will continue to do so for a long time.

Now and forever.

Heraclitus recognized the fundamental changing of objects with the flow of time (i.e., impermanence) and the philosophical issue of becoming.

He is credited with the phrase πάντα ῥεῖ (panta rhei) “everything flows.”This famous aphorism used to characterize Heraclitus’ thought comes from Simplicius, a neoplatonist, and from Plato’s Cratylus. The word rhei (as in rheology) is the Greek word for “to stream”, and is etymologically related to Rhea according to Plato’s Cratylus. Compare with the Latin adages Omnia mutantur and Tempora mutantur (8 AD) and the Buddhist and Hindu concepts of anicca.

Pioneer 10 – The first man-made object that left our solar system began its journey on March 3, 1972. It carries a gold-anodized aluminium plaque in case the spacecraft is ever found by intelligent life-forms from another planetary system.

Pioneer 10 would travel through the asteroid belt and head towards Jupiter, at speeds of up to 80,000 mph. It was thrown like a slingshot out of the solar system to explore the great beyond. On its way, it would collect data on our solar system that had never been gathered before. It would also carry the gold-plated Pioneer Plaque a “galactic greeting card” for any extraterrestrial life that might find it.

“It will be the oldest artifact of mankind,” explained Astronomer Carl Sagan, who helped bring the project to fruition, “A billion years from now, mountain building and erosion will have destroyed everything on the Earth, but this plaque will remain intact.”

Inspired by Greek and Roman sculpture, artist Linda Sagan Carl’s wife and Frank Drake, an astronomer who worked with Sagan at NASA, began to sketch out a visual message that could be understood by extraterrestrials that might encounter it. And, like any great

Introduction, the ‘greeting card’ begins with something that human beings and extraterrestrials have in common: hydrogen, the most prevalent element in the universe. Because hydrogen decays at a certain rate that defines a unit of time 21 seconds Sagan and Drake used it as a ‘universal’ yardstick for other measurements on the plaque particularly the Pulsar Map that identified the location of Earth in the known galaxy, Using the unit of 21, which can be multiplied by the binary digits represented by the small tick marks both in the pulsar map and in the diagram of the solar system,

Sagan and Drake built a system of symbolism, inspired by ‘Adam and Eve’, geared towards scientifically educated extraterrestrial inhabitants.

Anodized aluminium was a relatively high tech material at the time, so it was chosen for its durability. To withstand any potential obstructions during the journey through the asteroid belt, the aluminium was plated in thick gold, which was then engraved with Sagan and Drake’s artwork.

The finished plaque was mounted on the front of the pioneer spacecraft, and just days later, possibly the last time it was to be seen by human eyes, it was launched into the cosmos to float forever through infinite space, waiting to be found by friendly extraterrestrial beings.

Cats and humans have a long history of living together (or in a cat’s case, tolerating humans!) that can be traced back to as early as 7500 BC. More subtle than dogs in exhibiting their love for their owners, cats are furry companions that have filled our lives with oodles of joy — even if they ignore us when we call them and turn their noses up at that expensive new food we bought for them. In fact, according to a national pet owners survey, more than 42 million households in the United States have at least one cat. Now you can add another feline to your household with this coin, the first release in a new silver bullion series dedicated to all things related to the domesticated Felidae family.

Released by the South Pacific Ocean island nation of Fiji, these coins depict an all-American housecat as it alertly surveys its backyard domain. Its eyes are wide and zeroed in on something in the distance, seemingly oblivious to the tall grasses and flowers that surround the sleek tabby. The coin’s obverse shows the Fiji Coat of Arms along with the coin’s denomination, year date and silver content.

Obverse: Of the coin shows at its centre the Coat of Arms of Fiji, as adopted in 1908 by a Royal Warrant, consisting of a shield divided quarterly by the Cross of St. George and charged with lion at the top, supported by two Fijian warriors, one on each side – one clutching a spear and one holding a totokia club, and topped with a takia – a traditional Fijian outrigger canoe, in full sail. The objects on the Coat of Arms carry cultural, political, and regional meanings. The Cross of St. George and the lion at the top represent the United Kingdom, the former colonial power that ruled over Fiji. The cacao pod held in the lion’s paw, along with the sugarcane, coconut palm and bananas occupying three of the four quadrants, represent the country’s natural resource. The bottom left quadrant contains a dove that symbolises peace. At the bottom is the country’s motto: Rerevaka na kalou ka doka na Tui; translated from Fijian: Fear God and honour the Queen. On the left and right, separated by the Coat of Arms, the precious metal content: 1oz .999 FINE SILVER (one troy ounce of 99.9% silver). Around above, the name of the country and the date of issue: FIJI 2022; around below, the face value

Scrooge McDuck
In 1947, Scrooge McDuck made his first appearance in the Disney comic “Christmas on Bear Mountain” where he began his role as Donald Duck’s uncle. In this first story, he appears much more like his namesake, Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, where his bitterness and dislike for humanity is on full display. However, further development of the character would make him into the more likable and outgoing business tycoon we’ve come to know and love. In cartoon form, Scrooge would be portrayed as a Scottish-American based in the fictional city of Duckburg. Scrooge is the founder of McDuck Enterprises and calls himself an “adventure capitalist.” His treasure-seeking exploits were the subject of many episodes of the cartoon series DuckTales. While known for his exclamatory one-liners and opulent displays of over-the-top wealth, Scrooge’s curmudgeonly ways center mostly on demanding high standards of those around him. The Scrooge we know today is fiercely loyal to his family and more benevolent with his wealth than his name implies. The most classic depictions of Scrooge are of him swimming in piles of Gold in his giant money bin in Duckburg.

The first bullion release in the Ancient Warriors series features the iconic Samurai warrior. Struck in 1oz of fine silver, this unique bullion piece is strictly limited to a mintage of 10,000.

Samurai () were the hereditary military nobility and officer caste of medieval and early-modern Japan from the late 12th century until their abolition in 1876. They were the well-paid retainers of the daimyo (the great feudal landholders). They had high prestige and special privileges such as wearing two swords and Kiri-sute gomen (right to kill anyone of a lower class in certain situations). They cultivated the bushido codes of martial virtues, indifference to pain, and unflinching loyalty, engaging in many local battles.

Though they had predecessors in earlier military and administrative officers, the samurai truly emerged during the Kamakura shogunate, ruling from c.1185 to 1333. They became the ruling political class, with significant power but also significant responsibility. During the 13th century, the samurai proved themselves as adept warriors against the invading Mongols. During the peaceful Edo era (1603 to 1868), they became the stewards and chamberlains of the daimyo estates, gaining managerial experience and education. In the 1870s, samurai families comprised 5% of the population. As modern militaries emerged in the 19th century, the samurai were rendered increasingly obsolete and very expensive to maintain compared to the average conscript soldier. The Meiji Restoration ended their feudal roles, and they moved into professional and entrepreneurial roles. Their memory and weaponry remain prominent in Japanese popular culture.

He is most known for developing the theory of relativity, first predicting the existence of black holes, and making essential contributions to the development of the theory of quantum mechanics through his explanation of the photoelectric effect and postulation of light quanta. Einstein’s work also heavily influenced the philosophy of science, and he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his contributions to the field of theoretical physics.

The German-born scientist denounced Adolf Hitler due to his pacifist nature and Jewish background. He, along with other major scientists, endorsed a letter sent to President Franklin D. Roosevelt that let him know the Germans were researching nuclear weapons and that the U.S. should be aware and conduct its own research. Einstein, however, firmly opposed using nuclear weapons in war, but feared what the Nazis would do if they weaponized them first, Einstein’s legacy is a testament to his immense intelligence, curiosity, humour and compassion for fellow man. The realms of science and mathematics wouldn’t be where they are today without his contributions.

Fineness:
999

This coin, produced under license by The Coin Company Australia in cooperation with APMEX, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the iconic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial film release.

According to Stephen Spielberg, the concept for E.T. evolved out of a question he asked himself about what if an alien from Close Encounters of the Third Kind had stayed behind as a sort of exchange student. He then imagined the character from the perspective of his own childhood and the loneliness he felt during his parent’s divorce. Thus, E.T. was created as a friendly extra-terrestrial being who was left behind on Earth, but aided by the young boy Elliot to return home. In the course of this encounter, a unique friendship would emerge to the benefit of both characters and the delight of audiences around the world.

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial first premiered on 26 May 1982 at the Cannes Film Festival and later on 11 June 1982 across the United States. Its success was immediate, even surpassing the first Star Wars movie as the highest-grossing film of all time.

The obverse design displays the iconic scene of the full moon with the silhouette of Elliott and E.T. flying across on a bicycle. The Public Seal of Niue appears at the bottom of the moon face, which takes up the entire obverse, The seal has what looks like a plant arrangement at centre, within a double ornamental circle, itself surrounded by a circle of sea shells. This is crowned with St Edward’s Crown (of the United Kingdom). Around above between the two, the inscription PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE. Below that, a ribbon carries the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI on two lines, below which two crossed katoua (Niue fighting clubs), Around below, the face value and the date of issue, 2 DOLLARS 2022.

The reverse of the coin features an officially licensed image of E.T. raising his glowing finger while pointing to his glowing heart with the opposite hand. To the left of E.T. is the 40th anniversary logo as a privy mark. To the right of E.T. is the E.T. movie logo, reading (on two lines) E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL. Around above left, the copyright information: © Universal City Studios LLC. All rights reserved. Lady and the Tramp
Based on the story “Happy Dan, The Cynical Dog” from a 1945 Cosmopolitan Magazine, Lady and the Tramp is a love story between a Cocker Spaniel named Lady and a mutt named Tramp. The well-known film was released in 1955 by Walt Disney. In the popular film, Lady is from an upper-middle-class home while Tramp is only a stray mutt. As a new baby arrives in Lady’s home followed by her owners’ vacation, Lady must adjust to Aunt Sarah and her Siamese cats. As Lady transitions from a beloved pet to an outcast in her own home, she catches the attention of Tramp.

The most memorable scene of the film occurs when Lady, having been rescued from a muzzle put on by Aunt Sarah, is shown by Tramp how to live collar-free. Tramp takes Lady to a local Italian restaurant where the owner, upon seeing the two dogs together, puts together a candlelit dinner in the back alley with spaghetti and meatballs. This scene is now represented in Silver as the two dogs eat from the same noodle, turning into an accidental kiss.

2022 Rebel Alliance Star Wars 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

Manufacturer: New Zealand Mint
Dimensions:
39.mm
Weight (grams):
31.10300
Fineness:
999

Star Wars Rebel Alliance Starbird
Following the collapse of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire, an alliance of star systems rebelled and thus began the Galactic Civil War. As a symbol of that alliance, rebel leaders such as Leia Organa would adopt the starbird or phoenix which had appeared informally in anti-Imperial graffiti, in response to the demise of Galen Marek whose family crest bore the same symbol. Marek, an apprentice to Darth Vader, turned from the Dark side and sacrificed himself to protect the leaders who would go on to found the Rebel Alliance. This symbol would appear on the helmets, starships and other equipment of the alliance. Thanks to the leadership of Leia Organa, Admiral Ackbar, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and many others the Rebellion would eventually be victorious.

As a direct reactionary movement to the formation of the Empire, the Rebel insurgency conducted covert operations on Imperial garrison-worlds and utilized a stateless strategy in conjunction with wolfpack-guerrilla warfare against the Imperial Fleet throughout the galaxy. Capital ships had no place in the Rebellion; they are expensive to build, maintain, and to keep fully crewed. The Rebellion was far too limited in both manpower and resources to justify putting so much of both into a giant target. When the Galactic Empire is capable of always fielding greater numbers and greater firepower, being able to hit high-valued targets and get out is much more important. While the Empire considers all dissent and rebellion as acts of extremism and terrorism in Imperial propaganda, the Alliance is described and portrayed in various Star Wars media as a group of resilient freedom fighters, based on tolerance, self-empowerment, and hope for a better future using insurgency weapons and tactics.

Reverse Features the officially licensed Rebel Alliance Starbird Symbol from Star Wars. The reverse also features the metal content, purity, and the Lucasfilm copyright for further authentication.

Obverse face Displays the Niue coat of arms along with the face value and the year of issue.

Issued between 1894 and 1911 the German New Guinea Mark was legal tender in the colony until fully replaced by the German Mark – itself supplanted four years later by the Australian Pound after the colony was captured in the First World War. The finest version was undoubtedly the 10 and 20 Mark gold coins issued from 1895. Depicting a bird of paradise with outstretched plumage, resting on a forest tree branch, it’s a stunning piece, which you can see in the image of an 1895 original piece further down.

The Commonwealth Mint had an easy job lat year reproducing that gorgeous reverse, thankfully resisting the temptation to tinker with the original design in any way.

APMEX are now issuing a sequel:

  • Obverse: Features the national emblem of Papua New Guinea, and face value.
  • Reverse: Depicts a modern design of a Bird of Paradise in flight. Included is the name of the coin, purity, weight and year of issue.

2022 Fiji Dogs 1oz 999 Silver Bullion Coin

The first issue of the new Series Fiji Dogs. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is issued in a mintage of only 12,000 pieces worldwide. The motive shows a Dog that seems to run towards the viewer, as well as a house and mountains in the background. The name of the series, “DOGS”, is also included in the design. The reverse features the national emblem of Fiji, as well as the weight, fineness and denomination of the coin.

Dogs are generally considered “man’s best friend.” The domestication of the wolf can be dated back more than 100,000 years, making the dog the oldest domestic animal of man. Today, there are about 800 known dog breeds – the Chihuahua is one of the smallest recognized dog breeds, whereas the Great Dane with a withers height of at least 80 cm and the Irish Wolfhound with up to 95 cm are among the largest dog breeds.

The obverse of the silver coin is occupied by Fiji’s national coat of arms, in use since 1908. A shield is placed in the center of the depiction above a banner with the motto of the South Seas state “Rerevaka na Kalou ka doka na Tui.” (Fear God and honor the Queen). In the shield head is a golden, crowned lion with a cocoa pod in its paws. Below, a St. George’s cross divides the shield into four fields. In the four fields there are representatives of the flora and fauna typical of the country: a sugar cane plant, a coconut palm, a dove of peace and a banana tree. The shield is flanked on either side by two warriors in the local loincloths, one armed with a spear and the other with a club. A traditional outrigger boat with a sail is adorned above the shield.

Reverse: The largest part of the depiction is taken up by a dog, which jumps towards the viewer with its snout happily open and its tail raised. Front paws are crossed in the air while he pushes off with powerful hind legs ready for the next leap. He presents his tongue to the viewer as if he is already panting from running so fast. Its long, well-groomed fur flaps in the wind. The background is a mountain backdrop, the slopes of which rise steeply to the right. On the right side, on a hill in front of the mountains, a house nestles against the mountainside. The obverse bears the title of the coin series, “DOGS”.

The third issue of the series Icons of Inspiration is dedicated to Sir Isaac Newton. The motive was designed by coin designer Joel Iskowitz and features an image of the eminent scientist with symbols that are representative of his teachings. In his right hand, he holds a prism that refracts a beam of light. The Quarter Guinea gold coin of 1718 and an open book with an inscribed formula on which an apple lies are in the foreground. In the background are three planets kept in motion by the forces given in the equation of the book. Below the portrait is Newton’s signature. The reverse displays a triumphant image of a muse stretching her arm towards the sun. Also included in the design is the official coat of arms of Niue, as well as the denomination and year of issue.

Born on December 25, 1642 in the English county of Lincolnshire, Isaac Newton was one of the most important physicists, mathematicians and astronomers in history. With his “Philosophiae Naturalis Principa Mathematica”, he researched the theory of gravity, which made an important contribution to our understanding of the universe and with whose help he explained why an apple falls to the ground. Other areas of research to which Newton devoted himself were optics (refraction of light), algebra, and mechanics. In 1696, he was appointed keeper of the Royal Mint and minted the first ever quarter guinea coin – replacing the scarce five-shilling silver crown. At this time Newton showed great political commitment. He was knighted in 1705 and held the title of “Sir” until his death on March 20, 1726.
