The second issue of the new series is dedicated to the lion. The motive of the coin struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver features a full-body depiction of a full-grown lion standing on a rock, demonstrating its power and strength in a belligerent stance. The inscriptions “SOUTH AFRICA”, “BIG FIVE 2025” and the South African coat of arms are also part of the design. The reverse shows two halves of a lion’s head. Placing two of these coins next to each other gives a full close-up portrait of a lion. When several of these coins are placed next to each other, an entire pack of lions appears. In the center are the denomination “FIVE RAND”, the weight “1OZ” and the fineness “Ag 999”. A special feature is the filigree engraving of a Cape honey bee (Apis mellifera capensis), which points to the importance of integrated ecology. The 2025 Krugerrand continues this legendary tradition in a new metal. Much like its gold sibling, the Silver Krugerrand offers investors a great way to own low-premium bullion. Whereas the 2017 Silver Krugerrand was marketed as a higher-premium collector coin, the 2025 as was the 2018, 2019 2020 to 2024 editions were priced at a slim margin over melt. Its market premium is comparable to the Silver Maple Leaf, Britannia, Kangaroo, and Philharmonic. Unlike the other sovereign coins in its class, however, the Krugerrand offers multi-generational demand and recognition. Gold investors have turned to the Krugerrand for over 50 years; now they can own this trusted coin in silver too.

Each year, the coins of the Rwandan Wildlife African Ounce Series offer a new reverse design element. Each one of these new reverse elements comes with a shared design element, that being the outline of the African continent, and a new element representing a different animal species found on the continent.

The Rwandan Franc was introduced as the currency of Rwanda in 1964. Apart from its regular circulating coinage, the country has also authorised some foreign mints to issue coins under its jurisdiction, which come in a variety of sizes – including in the internationally popular silver ounce (1 oz silver) format, denominated usually as 50 Francs. Like any bullion coin though, their actual value is unrelated to the face value, and is based primarily on the metal content and the spot price of that metal on the commodities markets, This coin is part of the African Ounce series which features a new animal on the reverse every year, and is dedicated to the Martial Eagle, The martial eagle is a large eagle native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is the only member of the genus Polemaetus, and is a species of the “booted eagle” subfamily.

Ludwig Van Beethoven
Born in 1770 in Germany, Ludwig Van Beethoven was a groundbreaking composer and pianist whose influence reverberates through the history of classical music. After moving to Vienna to study with Joseph Haydn, Beethoven quickly gained acclaim as a master pianist. Despite facing increasing deafness from 1798 onward, he entered his middle period with revolutionary compositions like the “Eroica Symphony” (Symphony No. 3). In his late period, marked by profound introspection, he produced masterpieces such as the Ninth Symphony with the iconic “Ode to Joy.” Beethoven’s enduring legacy lies in his innovative approach to form, emotion, and expression, shaping the transition from the Classical to the Romantic era and inspiring countless composers beyond his death in 1827.
