As the Eleventh release in the exclusive Warrior Series this silver round features Sitting Bull. The first in the series is Eric Bloodaxe, the second being Julius Caesar, the third being Achilles, the fourth being Alexander The Great, the fifth being Genghis Khan, the sixth being Geronimo, the seventh being Joan of Arc. the eighth being Sparticas. the ninth being Hannibal. the tenth being Leonidas. This round commemorates Sitting Bull, a revered leader of the Lakota Sioux tribe during the 19th century.

Sitting Bull (Tatanka Iyotake) was more than a warrior; he was a symbol of unwavering resistance and a guiding light for his people during one of the most difficult eras in Native American history. Born in 1831, he rose to prominence as a leader and holy man of the Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux, guiding his tribe through an era of increasing pressure from U.S. governmental expansion into tribal lands.

Sitting Bull’s leadership was pivotal during the events leading up to the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, where he and his warriors, alongside other Plains tribes, achieved a historic victory against General George Custer’s 7th Cavalry. Despite intense opposition, Sitting Bull never signed a peace treaty with the U.S. government and remained committed to the sovereignty and spiritual values of his people.

The obverse: The obverse features Sitting Bull the Hunkpapa Lakota leader, also known as Sitting Bull. This iconic depiction is heavily admired among historians and patriots. With Sitting Bull, the design also depicts the native American bull with the settlements in the background. The top of the round features the inscription “SITTING BULL.”

The reverse: then features the common design that will be used throughout the series which depicts an array of historic weaponry that represents each of the warriors to come in this Legendary Warriors Series. The words “LEGENDARY WARRIORS” and “1. OZ 999 FINE SILVER” are curved around the top and bottom of the design.
