The second issue of the Heraldic Beasts series Following the Gryphon Beast was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is dedicated to the Heraldic lion, which symbolizes courage, determination and strength. The characterization of the lion as the “king of beasts” goes back to an early Christian book on animal symbolism called “Physiologus”. Since then, the royal symbolism of the heraldic lion has been taken up on numerous coats of arms to demonstrate strength and bravery and to emphasize one’s own identification with these attributes.

The rose gold plated motive of the coin depicts a majestic lion with a crowned head. Its paw rests on a coat of arms showing three heraldic lions, which are typically depicted in stylized form. The design also includes the inscription “LION”.

The reverse features the portrait of King Charles III as well as the denomination, year of issue, weight and fineness. The limited Lion silver coin with rose gold plating is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
