This one-ounce silver minted bar is part of the second release of bullion bars made by the Perth Mint to mark the Chinese Lunar Year, and was issued for the 2025 Lunar Year of the Snake.

The mint says about it:
Each animal of the lunar zodiac is said to bestow its dominant characteristics on those born during its rule. The sixth of 12 auspicious animal symbols, the snake confers wisdom, intelligence, independence, and charm on those born under its influence in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977 and every 12th preceding year.

This carefully crafted pure silver bar features a minted impression of a lunar snake on a patterned background. The independent creature appears elegantly entwined around a tree branch adorned with leaves, flaunting its expressive tongue.

• Obverse: shows the Perth Mint’s black swan logo, around which the inscription THE PERTH MINT AUSTRALIA, On three lines below, the precious metal content: 99.99% PURE SILVER 1 OUNCE, The background is decorated with a geometric pattern.
• Reverse: design depicts a hissing snake coiled around a tree branch, The designer’s initials WR (for Wade Robinson) are on the branch below right, Below left, the Chinese symbol for snake: 蛇, and the English inscription SNAKE, The background is decorated with a geometric pattern.
