African Bullion coins:

2019 World’s Wildlife Giraffe Congo 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

The Giraffe is issued for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and carries their emblem on the obverse. Introduced in 2006, it depicts a leopard head, surrounded by an elephant tusk to the left and a spear to the right. The three words underneath it, Démocratie, Justice, Unité, are French for Democracy, Justice, & Unity. This huge country (world’s 11th largest) has had a tumultuous history, reaching a nadir under Belgian rule in the late 19th/early 20th centuries, when millions died under King Leopold II. It remains a problematic country, despite huge natural resources.

2019 African Leopard Rep of Ghana 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

The Republic of Ghana Silver African Leopard Coins debuted in 2017 and offer new designs each year on the reverse face. This collection has proven immensely popular with investors. The 2017 coins sold out entirely and the 2018 release sold out in its first day of availability. With such demand, the 2019 coin isnt likely to last long either before its low mintage of 25,000 coins sells out.

Leopards are found in various regions of the world, but this series focuses on the specific subspecies of leopards found on the African continent. Though the African leopard has previously been found on rare occasions in North Africa, today it is most commonly found in sub-Saharan Africa. African leopards are found in both jungle and arid desert habitats in Africa.

This beautiful coin was struck from one ounce of pure silver in uncirculated quality. The reverse features a full image of a leopard cub playfully stroking its mothers face. In the background is a natural setting of a rocky landscape. The obverse displays the Somalian Coat of Arms with two Leopards on it. Leopards are graceful and powerful big cats. They are the fourth largest cats in the world after Tiger, Lion and Jaguar. No other big cat climbs so high and is as tall as the leopard. In order to protect his prey against predators, he often stores his prey on branch forks. The coins will be delivered in capsules. The mintage is limited to 30,000 pieces worldwide.

2019 South African Archosauria Dinosaurs Series 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

One of the mints most famous series is its Natura wildlife-themed proof coins, that have been issued since 1994. Only ever available in gold, the 2018 set headed into prehistory for the first time with a very nice five-coin Archosaurs set. It’s from this that the inspiration for the this new 2019 silver bullion coin has been drawn – specifically the small 1/20 oz gold coin. Depicting a small archosaur called Euparkeria.

The obverse is common to the whole series and quite outstanding. It depicts the fossilised skull, neck and shoulder of an Erythrosuchus africanus – at around 5 metres, the largest predator of its time. Inscribed here is the series title ‘RISE OF THE DINOSAURS’. the issuer ‘SOUTH AFRICA’, the date in Roman numerals ‘MMXIX’ and the sub-title, ‘ARCHOSAURIA’.  The reverse face is even better. Euparkeria leaping for an insect and in full motion is hugely dynamic and far removed from the usual lumbering depiction of prehistoric life that we’re used to. It’s simple and different – a fine change from the usual wildlife bullion coin we’re all used to. The program name ‘NATURA’, the denomination ’25 RAND’, the specific coin title ‘EUPARKERIA’ and the composition ‘1oz Ag999’ are inscribed here and don’t infringe too much on the main image.

2019 South African Elephant Big 5 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

From its versatile trunk and imposing tusks, to ears that flap forward as a sign of intimidation, the African elephant is a symbol of majestic strength and family unity. It is also the largest living land animal on earth, and one of our most intelligent species.

Its market premium is comparable to the Silver Maple Leaf, Britannia, Kangaroo, and Philharmonic. Unlike the other sovereign coins in its class, however, the Krugerrand offers multi-generational demand and recognition. Gold investors have turned to the Krugerrand for over 50 years; now they can own this trusted coin in silver too.

2019 Donald Duck Disney 1oz 85th Anniversary Silver Bullion Coin

Donald Duck is now 85 years old, and like Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday, is getting gold and silver bullion coins to mark the occasion. It’s a pretty standard release from the mint again, with just a 1oz 0.9999 gold and a 1oz 0.999 silver version on offer. Both carry the same basic design, and in our view, it’s a better one than the mouse received. A decent waste-up portrait of this ultra-iconic character takes centre stage, with an increasingly popular starburst pattern of radiating lines filling the background field. This works with varying degrees of success on many of today’s bullion coins – sometimes an enhancement, sometimes detrimental – but it fits in here because of the showbiz connections.

The obverse features the age-old effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.

2018 St Helena US Trade Dollar Restrike 1 oz Silver Bullion Coin

It became necessary to produce a special dollar for trading in the British Colony when the price of Silver rose rapidly in value between 1875 and 1895. The Silver price disturbed trading and resulted in a very serious shortage of minted dollars. To overcome the threat of a currency famine, The Royal Prerogative of the English sovereign gave approval in 1894 for the minting of a special British Dollar for general use in Far Eastern Trade.

These coins were given an Eastern look to help ensure acceptance by countries outside of British dominion. They also did not indicate a country of origin on the coin which helped allow them to circulate throughout China where they were readily accepted as a medium of exchange. To indicate that the coin was genuine, Chinese merchants would occasionally stamp the coins with a “chopmark” or “counterstamp” to indicate that the coin was genuine or perhaps to advertise their businesses. Chopmarks do not adversely affect the value of these coins in the secondary marketplace.

In Chinese astrology the animal signs assigned by year represent what others perceive you as being or how you present yourself. It is a common misconception that the animals assigned by year are the only signs and many western descriptions of Chinese astrology draw solely on this system. In fact, there are also animal signs assigned by month (called inner animals), by day (called true animals) and hours (called secret animals).

British Bullion Coins:

2018 Gibraltor Royal Coat of Arms 1oz Silver Bullion Coin

In the late 12th century, the Plantagenet King Richard I of England, affectionately known as King Richard the Lionheart, displayed the first-ever Royal Arms of England. The escutcheon (or shield) originally bore 1-2 lions, but a third lion was eventually added by King Richard I – Three lions passant guardant.

King Richard the Lionheart’s Royal Arms of England three lions design would come to serve as the symbol of the King of England and the personal coat of arms of nearly every Plantagenet King for the next 200 years, approximately. King Richard’s three lions remained until 1369 when the Plantagenet King Edward III altered the Royal Arms design to include the fleur-de-lis, reputedly in an effort to strengthen his claim to the French crown.

Beyond the aesthetic appeal of the coin itself, the incorporation of the Tudor Rose into the design signifies the passing of the Plantagenet Dynasty and the birth of the Tudor Dynasty. In the War of the Roses Henry Tudor (King Henry VII) was victorious over King Richard III, the final Plantagenet King.

The coins weight, fineness, and year date also appear. Both sides of this coin feature a beautiful guilloche design in the background creating a stylish pattern and texture to the coin.

The reverse feature is a dynamic rendering of St. George on horseback, at the moment when his lance pierces the dragon’s hide; this artful scene is set against a field of light refracting, micro-engraved dot texturing which appears to fan out from the St. George’s position like a halo of light. Also on the reverse, the coin’s year of issue, as well as details of weight, metal content and purity.

The obverse bears an artist’s rendering of Elizabeth II in profile, also set to magnificent effect against a field of micro-engraved dot-texturing. Also on the obverse, Elizabeth II regal title, as well as the coin’s unique denominational value.

The dragon depicted was, according to legend, terrorizing a town, which the hero encountered on his travels. Not only did he bring peace back to the townspeople, he also rescued their fair princess, from deep in the dragons lair ….more than worthy of commemoration in coin! Celebrate both British storytelling and diversify your portfolio with a 10 oz 2018 Royal Mint Valiant silver coin today.

2018 Isle of Man Angel 1oz Silver Proof Bullion Coin

Each of these 2018 1 oz Isle of Man Silver Angel Coins is available inside of an individual protective capsule. These coins have what the mint considers a “proof quality” appearance. The coins have frosted design sets which stand out against the proof-like background of the coin.

The Saint Michael design on these Isle of Man coins is inspired by the Medieval Gold Angel coin. This coin was first issued by King Edward IV of England in 1465 as a new issue of the noble coin from the 13th century, Englands first mass-produced gold coin. The value of the original Gold Angels ebbed and flowed over time, ranging from 6 shillings 8 pence to 11 shillings.

On the reverse of the 2018 1 oz Isle of Man Silver Angel Coin is the image of Saint Michael slaying the dragon. This classic concept of the archangel Michael conquering the dragon has been reproduced countless times and is based in part on the concept of the Apocalypse in the Revelation of St. John. The archangel Michael was the commander of the Army of God and squared off against evil forces in the world war between the forces of Heaven and Hell.

The obverse of the Isle of Man Silver Angel Coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by Jody Clark, who recently created the fifth-generation effigy of Her Majesty for the Royal Mint of England, this right-profile portrait depicts the Queen wearing the royal diadem crown upon her head.

2018 Isle of Man Noble 1oz Silver Proof Bullion Coin

The English noble coins were available from 1344 until the reign of King Edward IV in 1464 when the period of so-called Heavy Coinage resulted in a new version of the noble known as the Gold Angel. The original noble designs issued by Englands ruling monarchs featured various reverse designs, but many shared a similar theme of a ship sailing on the horizon on the obverse.

All of these 2018 1 oz Isle of Man Silver Noble Coins borrow heavily from that concept for the reverse design. Each of the individual Isle of Man Silver Nobles you purchase here today come with an individual capsule and what the mint calls a “proof quality” finish. This indicates the presence of frosted design elements and a proof background field for the silver coin.

On the reverse of the 2018 1 oz Isle of Man Silver Noble Coin, youll find a Viking long ship on the horizon. This is a fitting choice for a noble coin for the Isle of Man. Inhabited since 6,500 BC, the Isle of Man was ruled over for long periods of time by Norseman from the 9th century onward. In fact, King Magnus III, King of Norway, ruled over the Isle of Man as the King of Mann and the Isles.

The obverse side of the 2018 Isle of Man Silver Noble Coin features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile portrait was created by Jody Clark, who also created the current Royal Mint of England effigy of the Queen. The ruling monarch of Britain, which now controls the Isle of Man as a crown dependency, is considered the Lord of Mann.

After Pegasus had helped Perseus rescue Andromeda, he was carried to Mount Helicon where he was entrusted to the care of the Muses.

Many wanted to capture Pegasus but no one could work out how to tame such a magnificent creature.  After being advised to sleep in the temple of Athena, Bellerophon saw the goddess before him holding a golden bridle.  When he awoke he was alone but the bridle remained.  He ran from the temple and found Pegasus drinking at a spring.  Bellerophon put the charmed bridle on the winged horse’s head with little difficulty and, with the bridle in place, Pegasus became gentle and tame and Bellerophon became his master.
