Celebrating the iconic Batman from the 1989 movie. A batarang is a roughly bat-shaped throwing weapon used by the DC Comics superhero Batman. The name is a portmanteau of bat and boomerang, and was originally spelled baterang. Although they are named after boomerangs, batarangs have become more like shuriken in recent interpretations. Limited mintage of 20000 pieces worldwide.

This detailed coin was designed after the 1989 film, Batman. The batarang is a throwing weapon utilized by Gotham’s hero, Batman. It is a bat-shaped weapon that resembles a boomerang and was the most commonly used item in Batman’s arsenal.

The obverse: Depicts the Samoa coat of arms and includes inscriptions for the country of issue, face value, year of issue, fineness and size.

The reverse: Blank, but the coin is shaped like a batarang.
