The third issue from the entoma series by Le Grand Mint. depicts a scarab beetle, considered a powerful amulet since time immemorial with a magical-apotropaic function of eternal rebirth in becoming and transforming, ensuring only happy events and a constant improvement of intuitive and spiritual faculties.

The scarab beetle is caught in two moments, as it walks over one of the infinite variations of the dodecahedron, one of the Platonic solids, a jagged and fragmented path that symbolises the complexity of the world in which we live, the other as it is in flight, we see a reinterpretation of the Renaissance matrix “mazzocchio”, an archetypal shape that symbolises both essentiality and complexity, teaching us that only a broad and open vision of the world and of ourselves allows us to soar and overcome our limits.

The reverse: of this Silver coin pulses with the scarab, as it walks over a fractured dodecahedron. Jagged edges slicing through endless possibilities. A labyrinth of chaos that mirrors the tangled world beneath our feet.
