The 2010s marked another epic era for the James Bond movie franchise as Daniel Craig became only the second person in history to feature as 007 for the duration of an entire decade.
In celebration of this trailblazing period of film, The Royal Mint proudly introduces the sixth and final bullion coin in its Six Decades of 007 Bullion Collection. The reverse design depicts the snow plane from Spectre, in which Bond pursues Mr Hinx down the Austrian slopes to rescue Dr Madeleine Swann. The design itself is once again encircled by the signature gun barrel effect that appears at the opening of every 007 movie.
A timeless investment with enduring appeal, the Bond Films of the 2010s minted bullion coin is available in fine gold and silver editions, enhanced with special finishes.
The obverse: of the coin displays the first definitive portrait of King Charles III, which shows his bare (uncrowned) head facing left, Below the neck truncation in tiny letters, the artist’s initials MJ (for Martin Jennings), Around, the monarch’s legend followed by the face value and date of issue: CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 2 POUNDS ·. Translated from Latin, the legend means: Charles the Third, by the Grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith, The obverse has a textured background (“guilloche” geometric pattern).
The reverse:of the coin depicts the snow plane from the film “Spectre”, in which Bond pursues Mr Hinx down the Austrian slopes to rescue Dr Madeleine Swann, Below, the 007 logo of the franchise, with the 7 being in the shape of a pistol, In microtext in the background, repeated multiple the names of all the James Bond movies released in the 2010s and in 2021 (Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die). “Hidden” in the mictotext (on the second line below the 007 logo), the designer’s initials, CD for Christian Davies and MD for Matthew (Matt) Dent, The rim features the spiraling rifling of a gun barrel, which is another hallmark of the series, Repeated multiple times in microtext around the rim, 2026 · BOND OF THE 10s · FINE SILVER · 1 OZ 999 · (one troy ounce of 99.9% silver), The face value is on the obverse.
