The Silver Coin 250th Anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence 1 Ounce of Silver 2026 is a commemorative bullion issue prepared by The Royal Mint to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. Proclaimed on July 4, 1776, the document became the foundation for the creation of an independent American state and one of the most important texts in the history of modern democracy.

The coin was struck from 1 ounce of .999 fine silver in Brilliant Uncirculated standard. It has a diameter of 38.61 mm and a face value of 2 British pounds. The mintage is 250,010 pieces, referring to the 250th anniversary of the event commemorated on the coin.

Although the coin was issued by the British mint, its design pays tribute to one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the United States, combining American symbolism with the craftsmanship characteristic of The Royal Mint.

The Obverse: depicts a majestic American bald eagle and a quill pen – a symbol of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The design is complemented by the inscription “250th ANNIVERSARY OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE”, emphasising the commemorative nature of the issue and honouring one of the most important events in the history of the United States.

The Reverse: of the coin bears the uncrowned portrait of King Charles III designed by sculptor Martin Jennings, along with the coin’s monetary denomination.
