The Fifth bullion coin to be issued by the Gdansk Mint is the Rusalka from the “Slavic Beastiary” series. It was minted from 1 ounce of 999 silver with a mintage of only 1,000 pieces.

The Story

The Utopiec BU Coin is the fourth premium silver bullion release in the Slavic Bestiary series, struck from .999 fine silver (Ag 999). It is available in two weight variants – 1 oz (mintage: 1,000 pieces) and 2 oz (mintage: 2,000 pieces). The coin captivates with its intricate design and rich symbolism inspired by Slavic mythology.

The obverse features the official coat of arms of the Republic of Cameroon. At its center is the national coat of arms, accompanied by the face value, the Ag 999 silver purity mark, and the year of issue. The background is filled with an elaborate foliage pattern concealing symbolic elements such as owls, a bat, a winding snake, and a spider’s web, all contributing to the mysterious atmosphere of the series.

The reverse depicts the Utopiec, a sinister water spirit from Slavic folklore. Emerging from marsh vegetation and the remains of an old wooden structure, the creature’s emaciated figure, elongated fingers, and fish-like tail emphasize its supernatural nature. The scene is enriched with finely sculpted details, including a water lily, dragonfly, frog, old wagon wheel, and dense reeds, creating an evocative wetland landscape. At the bottom, the inscriptions “UTOPIEC” and “SLAVIC BESTIARY” emphasize the coin’s place within the acclaimed series.
