The Rhodium 1 oz 999 Bullion Bar is struck in a fine reflective surface and features raised lettering indicating the manufacturer & Bullion Merchants (London) – ONE OUNCE – (999.0 Fine Rhodium).

It also features a 6 digit engraved serial number. The bar is encased in a protective tamper proof plastic holder which includes the assay card and is securely sealed.
The back of the assay card features the LPMA Hallmark and the mints contact details engraved on the back of the bar.

RHODIUM INFORMATION

The annual world production of Rhodium is about 30 tons making it at least 10 times rarer then Gold, most of which is mined in South Africa and Russia and is found in ores mixed together with other metals such as Palladium, Platinum, Silver & Gold.

Its many uses are found in Jewellery and decorations such as the plating of white Gold, it is used as an alloying agent for hardening and improving the corrosion resistance of Palladium, Platinum, & Silver Proofs, as filters in X-ray machines & optical instruments but its main use is for catalytic converters in automobiles, airplanes, buses, forklifts, trucks and other types of equipment running on engines which takes up to 80% of Rhodium Production.

Rhodium has also been used for honors or to signify elite status, when more commonly used metals such as silver, gold or platinum were deemed insufficient. In 1979 the Guinness Book of World Records gave Paul McCartney a rhodium-plated disc for being history’s all-time best-selling songwriter and recording artist.
