This 5 ounce black proof silver coin is dedicated to the Year of the Dragon 2024, the fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar.

The gold plated motive features two dragons, whose depiction in gold and silver creates an impressive contrast. The majestic mythical creatures are each depicted with their mouths open and appear very powerful due to the implied movements. Additionally, the Chinese character for “Dragon” is included in the design. The reverse shows the portrait of King Charles III, the year of issue, the denomination, the weight and the fineness.

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, the fifth, and only mythological, animal in the lunar cycle. This impressive creature has represented imperial power since ancient times, when Chinese emperors titled themselves exclusively as ’The Dragon’. Those lucky enough to be born under this auspicious beast are thought to be confident, resolute, strong, and proud – charismatic and natural leaders!

The reverse: of the coin depicts Two Dragons, One dragon is seen roaring as another, with a gold-plated finish, is seen moving from left to right on the coin. a significant symbol in Chinese culture and mythology, and continues to play an important role in Chinese traditions and celebrations. In the middle of the reverse, the inscriptions: “龍” – Dragon, the name of the coin.

The obverse: of the coin depicts the Effigy of King Charles III and the inscriptions: “NIUE 2024” – the issuing year of country, “TEN DOLLAR” – the face value and “5 oz 999 SILVER” – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver.
