This 2024 Bond of the 1970’s 1oz silver bullion coin marks the start of a brand new bullion series from The Royal Mint celebrating the world’s favourite spy – the Six Decades of 007 range.

First created by Ian Fleming in the 1953, James Bond became a British icon when he appeared on the big screen in 1962. Since then the MI6 agent has only grown in popularity, as new actors made the character their own.

This second coin in the series celebrates the bond movies of the 1970s when Roger Moore brought a new level of charm and sophistication to the British spy in classic movies such as ‘Live and Let Die’ and ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’. The coin features the legendary ‘Wet Nellie’ Lotus Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me.

The Obverse: The James Bond Collection continues with the second bullion release honoring the Six Decades of 007. Celebrating the iconic Bond films of the 1970s, the coin features a film-accurate depiction of the legendary Lotus Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me, affectionately known to Bond fans as ‘Wet Nellie’. This minted bullion coin is a wonderful tribute to the decade that brought us classic Bond films like Live And Let Die and is a fantastic investment opportunity for fans of the 007 franchise.

The Reverse: You can see the likeness of the new British King Charles III, who, unlike his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, is looking to the left. The fluted coin is framed on this side by the words: “CHARLES III D G REX F D 2 POUNDS”. The letters stand for the Latin words: “Dei Gratia Rex, Fidei Defensor”. In English, this means: “King by the grace of God, defender of the faith.” The fineness of this coin is 31.1035g.
