Inspired by a love of history and myths, the Legendary Warriors series showcases historical and legendary figures who inspired and often terrified many with their strength, cunning, and ambition. This Alexander the Great round is the fifth reveal of the series celebrating the most famous warriors from history and legend.

The round commemorates the founder and first Great Khan of the Mongol Empire.

Known for his military brilliance and leadership, Genghis Khan united the disparate Mongol tribes through alliances and conquests, creating a disciplined and formidable cavalry force. His military campaigns extended across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, leading to the establishment of the Mongol Empire, which persisted long after his death in 1227.

The Reverse: The first Khan of the Mongol Empire. His companions carried bows and arrows, but Genghis Khan can be seen atop of his horse, carrying on his arm his favorite falcon, which was better and surer than any arrow. In the foreground, snowy mountains and camps can be seen from what is now known as Central Asia.

The obverse: of the round bears a bundle of weapons to represent the ‘Legendary Warriors’ series. The round’s weight and fineness also appear.
