The Flower Clock 1 Oz Silver coin depicts the Horologium Florae, a beautiful concept which takes inspiration from the research study of the phenomenon of flower opening conducted by Carl Nilsson Linnaeus (1707-1778), Each flower “wakes up” at a specific time, some early in the morning, others need the hot midday sun to open. This creates a real clock whose hours are indicated by the opening of the flowers.

Linnaeus spent his life observing and cataloging plants, ordering them according to the opening time of their corollas, and thus constructed a kind of flower clock by taking advantage of their asynchronous opening property, the coin is based on the faithful reconstruction of the 18th century flower clock, without refraining from updating it with the colours that not only enhance its beauty but also remind us of a field of flowers and give us a glimpse of nature.

A renowned Swedish botanist who brought us into the fascinating process of flower blossoming. The coin is in Proof quality and has a wonderful coloration. It comes in a case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to 333 pcs worldwide.

The reverse: of the coin tells the story of Linnaeus, who dedicated his life to observing and categorizing plants, organizing them based on the timing of their corolla openings. As a result, he created a floral clock: as we can see from the design, each flower awakens at a specific time, with some blooming early in the morning and others requiring the warmth of the midday sun.

The obverse: of the coin repeats the image of circular patterns recalling the idea of blossomed flowers. In the outer of the obverse, the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA” – the issuing country, “20 DOLLARS” – the face value, “1 OZ” – the weight of the coin and “9999 FINE SILVER” – the fineness of the Silver.
