2021 South Korea Zi Sin Taurus 1 ounce Silver Bullion Medal
The 2021 South Korea Zi Sin Taurus 1 ounce Silver Bullion Medal comes in a protective Coin capsule.
COIN INFORMATION
The Zi:Sin series is back for its 5th release, this time featuring the Guardian known as Taurus. Zi:Sin are twelve Guardians from Korean mythology. Inspired by the lunar calendar, they are tasked with protecting against evil forces from twelve different directions. Taurus is not only the guardian of peace, but also the God of War.
The Zi:Sin series from KOMSCO offers an intriguing twist on well-known lunar calendar coins. Rather than offer twelve animals representing each month, the series turns to Korean lore and presents the 12 Guardians. According to myth, there are evil forces from twelve directions on the lunar calendar wheel. The Guardians are divinely ordained protectors against these dangerous forces lurking around us. There are 12 Guardians in total, each one representing an animal on the lunar calendar.
Each Guardian is assigned with unique powers to help in the fight of good versus evil. While Taurus is known to defend peace, he is also the God of War. As such, he is a large, striking presence. He is seen forging a sword, signaling both skill and preparedness. There is little doubt encroaching evil forces will cower in fright in the presence of such an imposing figure.
2021 South Korean Taurus Silver Medals arrive to you in brilliant uncirculated condition. All medals come in individual plastic capsules.
The obverse of the 2021 1 oz Zi:Sin Taurus Silver Medal features the Doggaebi, a mythical creature in Korean lore that fends off dark spirits. The design is based on a famous tile found in the ancient Korean kingdom of Silla. On the border of the coin are the weight, purity, date, and country. KOMSCO is spelled out at the bottom of the medal. Also, rather than 1 Troy oz, the medal says 1 Clay. This is simply a measurement from the mint that is the equivalent of a Troy oz.
The reverse features the guardian Taurus front and center. Taurus has flowing hair and is seen forging a sword. This suggests both his warrior ethos and that he is primed for battle. He appears poised and ready to ward off any evil spirits that dare approach. On the border of the medal are the words Zi:Sin Taurus.

I love the way the Zi Sin series of 12 Gaurdians are tied to the Lunar Calendar. Great work again from Komsco, the South Korean Mint. This is a must have series for silver investors.

Bought another few of these beauties for my collection. Mintage for this 5th medal in the series is only 20k! 1st medal was 50k, next 2 were 40k, 4th was 22k and 6th is back up to 30k, showing the popularity of this set is growing now that the collectors are understanding the quality of these Korean medals.. So the 5th medal Zi Sin Taurus, will be the most scarce of the set and will probably sell at a higher price than the other medals in the set
