There’s something special about wild horses running free, but the free-roaming mustangs of America’s West aren’t the world’s only wild horses. These equine beauties are known as Brumby Horses or “Brumbies” in honor of James Brumby (1771-1838), an English soldier and pastoralist. Brumby was forced to turn loose the horses he had bred and raised in New South Wales after being transferred to Tasmania in 1804. Today, these feral creatures descended from Brumby’s original stock have come to symbolize Australia’s independent nature and ability to thrive in a hostile environment.

The second year in the Brumby series of bullion coins, this beauty was struck in a full ounce of 99.99% pure silver. This legal-tender $1 coin is a gleaming tribute to an Australian icon seen by many as symbolic of the nation’s rugged can-do character.

Each 2021-dated coin available in this offer also comes in original Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, with razor-sharp designs exactly as they left the mint. Each coin also includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter that’s detectable only by viewing it through a magnifying glass.
